I am reaching out from Shelter Scotland’s HSBC Project in my role as the Senior Housing Rights Worker.
As some of you are aware and have attended our sessions before, part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the financial resilience and tenancy stability of individuals and families across Scotland, our HSBC Project provides vital support in income maximisation, debt management, and guidance on benefits and financial obligations. Our team works closely with those experiencing severe financial hardship, many of whom struggle to meet their basic living expenses.
As part of our capacity building efforts, we are pleased to offer free online training sessions to further develop your team’s knowledge and confidence.
We are excited to offer free online training on Child Age Benefits through Social Security Scotland and updated changes to Universal Credit. This session will cover a range of important topics, including:
- Child Disability Payment
- Best Start Grants
- Scottish Child Payment
- Child Winter Heating Payment
- Young Carer Grant
- The Baby Box
- Universal Credit updates, including changes to payments following the lifting of the two-child cap
- Practical case studies
There will also be a Q&A session to address any specific queries, alongside an opportunity to share best practice and insights with one another.
This session is relevant for anyone working within the UK and Scottish Social Security sector and/or whose work brings them into contact with families with children.
The online training will take place via Microsoft Teams on:
- Monday 29th June
- Tuesday 30th June
- Wednesday 1st July
All sessions will run from 10:00 AM to 13:00.
We would be delighted to invite you to participate. If you are interested in joining the training, please complete the registration form below so we can tailor the session to attendees’ needs:
